Few Songwriters in the last century have been used by the Lord as much as Bill and Gloria Gaither. Songs such as He Touched Me, The King is Coming and so many more. Tonight, as I reflect on the glory of Easter, I think of "Because He Lives". In a nutshell the lyrics of this song present the gospel, "God sent His Son. They called Him Jesus. He came to love, heal, and forgive. He lived and died to buy my pardon. An empty grave is there to prove my Savior lives!" And then, it gives us hope for today! "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow!". Jesus said we would have trials and tribulation in this world. "But", He said, "be of good cheer for I have overcome the world." (John 16:33) Because He lives, I survived getting hit by a car in high school. Because He lives, our sins are forgiven, and we have eternal life. Because He lives Melva and I were brought together, married, and have served the Lord together for 54 years (next month). Because He lives, we know our every need will be met, financially, emotionally, and spiritually. Because He lives, the Bible comes alive, and the Holy Spirit guides us each day! One time I heard someone ask, "Why do so many professing Christians live like practicing atheists"? Why do we act as if He had not risen, that He is not with us right now? Please join Melva and me in remembering that He is alive and our sins are forgiven. Please pray that each of us walk in the Spirit-led and empowered life our risen Lord has prepared for us! Family: Melva and I just finished a quick visit to California where we were able to spend a few days with family before preaching in Palm Desert. We had a wonderful time with our sons Steve and Tim, their wives Annie and Sara, and grandchildren Samuel, Abigail, Elizabeth and Sydney. We are so proud of how the parents are raising them to know Jesus! Samuel (8) shared with us that he has made his decision to commit his life to Jesus! 1st Responder New Testaments and Devotionals: In the past month we have received requests from chaplains in New York, Florida, and Texas, for over 700 copies of New Testaments and devotionals. 500 of these go to the New York State Fire Chaplains! Your support allows us to continue to distribute these free of charge around the country, thank you! Desert Springs Church in Palm Desert: We had the privilege of sharing God's word for 3 services in this wonderful church pastored by our long-term friends Mark and Cheri Cedar! Your prayers were felt! Upcoming: Please pray for the Holy Spirit’s anointing as we share!
Finances: By God’s grace and your faithful prayers and support, we were able to send an extra gift to twenty missionaries, missionary widows, and small church pastors in April. This gift is to help them establish or help with their retirement and/or emergency savings. As you may know, many workers in smaller mission agencies and churches are underfunded. In addition, the Lord allowed us to provide a scholarship to a local Christian worker who's taking Christian counselling classes! Several years ago, we felt the Lord leading us to assist them in these areas. Your investment in God’s work through RBM is impacting many for Jesus! Prayer Requests: Please pray for the anointing of the Holy Spirit to be upon us as we share the wonderful gospel of Jesus. This is the busiest summer of out-of-town ministry we’ve had in several years and we really appreciate your prayers for safety and opportunities to share as we travel. By God’s grace we have a seminary student coming to intern with us this summer! Please pray for Dalton Stuart. “The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make His face shine on you, and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up His countenance on you, and give you peace.” (Numbers 6:24–26) By His grace and to His glory!
