Currently we serve as volunteer directors for the Western State College Fellowship of Christian Athletes. We hold weekly training sessions for students and community members who feel called to ministry. We share with ski area employees and guests, and teach a weekly Bible class. In addition, Rick writes a monthly article for The Encourager, a Christian firefighting magazine and is working on his Doctor of Ministry. In the winter months Rick teaches skiing at Crested Butte Mountain Resort and Melva substitute teaches in the school system. During the spring and fall they travel around the country speaking in churches, and in the summer Rick fights forest fires and does fire chapels around the country as well as speaks in churches.
